Former Farmers & Merchants Chief Joins Hospital Board

In an effort to continue to meet the health care needs of the community, Treasure Valley Hospital has opened its Governing Board to local business and community leaders. The first such leader to be appointed to the board is retired Chairman, President and CEO of Farmers and Merchants Bank, Clarence Jones.

"We have wanted to offer community leaders the opportunity to participate on our Governing Board for some time. Clarence’s participation has offered a perspective we had been missing in the past," said Michael Long, TVH Administrator. "His experience, character and values will play a role in the decisions we make as we strive to continue to provide a high quality level of care and service to the community," Long added.

The TVH Governing Board operates in a regulatory capacity to the Board of Directors to insure that the mission to provide the highest level of quality care and financial stability is carried out.

"Clarence is a respected community leader and a proven successful business man. He exhibits the traits and values such as honesty and integrity, that we as a business strive to exhibit to our community," Long continued.

"This is a great opportunity for me to stay involved and give back to the community which has given me and my family so much. Treasure Valley Hospital has been a great asset to the community for the past 10 years. I am excited about being apart of the growth TVH is sure to experience," Jones said.

Jones began his career in 1960 with Idaho First National Bank in Idaho Falls. In 1973 Jones became Executive Vice President of Citizens National Bank before joining United First Federal Savings & Loan Association in 1983. Jones joined Farmers & Merchants State Bank in 1989 as Executive V.P. He was named President and CEO in 1999 and became Chairman, President and CEO in 2001. Jones retired in 2006 and now serves on the Board of Directors of the Bank of the Cascades as they acquired Farmers and Merchants Bank in 2006.
